2024 Horry County Local Historical Sites and Structures High School Video Contest

2024 HORRY COUNTY LOCAL HISTORICAL SITES AND STRUCTURES HIGH SCHOOL VIDEO CONTEST

Every year the Horry County Historic Preservation Commission has a contest among high school students with cash prizes for the winners! This project does not need to be an in-school assignment, but may be done independently and signed off by either a teacher or parent. This is for  high school students who live in Horry County. I would also like to add that we have had winners from home school programs in the past.

Participating students are eligible for the following prizes:

1st Place - $250

2nd Place - $150

3rd Place - $100

All participants are invited along with their families, classmates, teacher, and principal, to the Awards Ceremony, held in May, in Conway, SC. Winners will be presented with a certificate and picture of winners and a press release will go out to the media across Horry County.

Videos may be displayed on Horry County’s Public Access Government Channel and shared with local media and using social media outlets to promote the County’s historical resources.
