Homeschool Resources

Standards

The following links to South Carolina Standards are provided for parents who want to understand them and who may wish to incorporate them. Homeschooling families are not required to follow standards set by the SC Department of Education or any other state or federal entity.

The South Carolina Department of Education web page on Standards and Learning has links to standards in each subject area.

They also provide these Family-friendly guides to the standards that provide activities to reinforce and support learning of the standards.

Course of Study

The following links are provided for parents who may want some guidance or ideas of what their children should study each school year. Once again, these are only for guidance. In South Carolina, homeschooled students do not have a set course of study. The law only requires that the minimum curriculum includes English, math, science, and social studies. Parents have the freedom to tailor the education to fit the needs of each child. This list is definitely NOT a recommendation of the product in any way.

World Book Typical Course of Study provides a curriculum guide for preschool through grade 12.

Core Knowledge - they provide curriculum but their website is also full of resources, free curriculum, and guidelines

Every resource listed below is from a trusted website or friend but I have not been able to vet each one and I cannot guarantee that they will perfectly fit your needs or worldview. I hope that you find them helpful. Inclusion in the list is not an endorsement of any kind.  Affiliate links may be included and are noted.

They are not in any particular order.

Feel free to share this page link https://chasc.net/Homeschool-Resources

Feedback is always welcome, especially if something is inappropriate or a link is not working.
